Biography for Attorney Nate Ross

I am the oldest of three boys born to a family practice doctor and a nurse in St. Louis, Missouri. I grew up playing team sports including football, basketball and baseball. At age 13, I traveled to Japan and participated in an international baseball tournament. I attended Lafayette High School where I played quarterback for the football team and guard for the basketball team.

After graduating from high school, I attended Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. While at Westminster, I joined the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity, enjoyed intramural sports and tailgating at Mizzou games. In 1998, I graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree with emphasis in business administration and Spanish. I graduated with a 3.88 GPA and was a member of the Alpha Chi National Scholarship Honor Society.

After graduating from Westminster, I attended the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. While at Mizzou, I won recognition for my performance in trial practice, as a Top Ten Oralist in the First Year Moot Court Competition, as a Quarter-Finalist with the best brief in the National Moot Court Competition, as a member of the Regional Moot Court Team, and as a finalist in the Mock Trial Competition. I published two case notes in the Missouri Journal of Dispute Resolution and one comment in the Missouri Law Review, which was awarded the Guy A. Thompson Prize for Best Student Work published in 2001. I was a member of the Missouri Law Review, the Missouri Journal of Dispute Resolution, the Domestic Violence Clinic, and an Executive Member of the Board of Advocates. I finished in the top 10% of my class and I am a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barristers.

After graduating from Mizzou, I passed the Missouri and Illinois bar exams. I began my career as a litigation associate with a large St. Louis law firm. During my tenure there, I learned how to use the court system from bright, skilled lawyers. These lawyers taught me investigative techniques, the finer points of legal writing, how to try cases and how to handle issues on appeal.

In 2007, I joined a boutique litigation firm focusing on class action and complex litigation cases. In 2013, I started my own legal practice committed to providing straight-forward legal advice with the bottom line in mind. I have successfully litigated cases in federal and state courts in Missouri and Illinois representing a wide array of clients. In 2016, I became a certified mediator to assist people with resolving their legal disputes through honest assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of their respective cases.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons. I am active in youth sports and enjoy being outdoors.

I am admitted to practice law in Missouri and Illinois as well as several federal district courts throughout the country.
